HYNE TIMBER
hamilton, BRISBANE, QLD
THE PROJECT
One of the key goals for the creation of the new Brisbane Office for Hyne Timber was to create a workplace that would help attract more staff back to the office. A key component of this was the creation of place that people would want to be; somewhere desirable and fun, somewhere they are drawn to because it’s easier and more pleasant than working from home or another Hyne Timber location.
The resulting design was one that showcased their range of timber products in a creative and unexpected way, and made staff proud and excited to share with others. It is designed to foster connection and provide new starters with the ability to meet and learn from their Managers.
The entry and client zone is wrapped in CLT organic, stacked forms, leading clients to the check-in reception and meeting rooms beyond. Beyond this is a shared zone with drop-In bench for visiting staff and high attendance days and an open breakout zone, with a range of seating options that allows this space to double as a team meeting space or relaxation zone.
The entrance to the work area is framed by a large portal constructed from their Glu-Lam product. A range of workstations, focus booths and quiet rooms support this agile and engaged workforce.
The result is a more activated and energized workplace, which makes time in the office more purposeful. This new workplace also communicates the strength and breadth of the brand both externally and internally.
